Blog Review

I chose to review Blog4History: American and Civil War History.  I read a few articles on the site.  They had a lot of articles that tied the past to the present.  For example, they discussed the credibility of the US government. The author compared the Pentagon Papers to Wikileaks.  Both documents revealed information that was being withheld from the public.  Some journalists have questioned the ability of historians to document historical facts accurately.  Other journalists contend that sensitive information is not for public consumption. Such information is must be remain secret for reasons of national security.

Blog4History was a great blog.  But, it was shut down ove a week ago.  The site costs the blogger $9.99 per month.  The blogger said he has nearly completed his research project and does not want to continue to carry the expense of the blog.  I returned to the blog to read additional articles but it had shut down.  Therefore, I focused more attention on another blog.

I also follow the "Social Studies and History Teacher's Blog".  This is one of my favorite blogs because it contains a lot of resources.  I can pull up this blog and go directly to videos of interest.  There is a link  for teachers to purchase additinal resources. The site also has free lesson plans.  The blog has material on a wide range of topics.  I refer to it often.
